A few kilometers from Rome, stands the majestic Castle of Bracciano, one of the most beautiful feudal residences in Europe. The castle has become well-known all over the world for hosting several high profile weddings, such as that of the Hollywood stars Tom Cruise and Kate Holmes.

Built by the Orsini family in 1470 around an old medieval fortress, dating back to 1200, on the southern shore of Bracciano Lake, put under siege by the Borgia and ally of the Medici family, the castle was the perfect communion between military and Renaissance architecture.

Today, thanks to the Foundation Livio IV Odescalchi, the castle is open to the public and welcomes tens of thousands of tourists a year. Historic fortress and Renaissance residence. The Castle Orsini-Odescalchi is one of the most beautiful in Italy. In its halls decorated with frescoes and furnished rooms, it houses collections of antique furniture, Renaissance pottery, armors and weapons. From the very top of the parapet walk, you can also enjoy a wonderful view over the valley of the lake.

The tour will end with a wonderful trip around the lake of Bracciano by ferry boat, the very best way to see the lake and the little towns of Bracciano, Anguillara and Trevignano.
